We Come to Wickford
No drop-off, no courtesy car, no waiting for a phone call. We arrive with the diagnostic equipment and the calibration tools and work on your drive, in your yard, or in the car park at your workplace.
Most visits are planned around the owner's day. If you work away from home and the vehicle is only parked in the evening, that is workable.
02
Tuning for the A127 and A130
This is a driving pattern we know well. Vehicles spend their time at steady speed on a dual carriageway, with the occasional loaded run, and very little crawling. That is a healthy pattern for a modern diesel, and it is a good starting point for a calibration that focuses on how the vehicle feels and responds rather than trying to force it further than it should go.
We discuss what you actually want from the vehicle before we write anything, and we build the calibration around that answer.
03
Vans, Businesses and the Local Estate
The units around Wickford and Shotgate run on vans, and a van that is working hard every week is the best candidate there is for economy-focused calibration work. Not a promise about what it will return, but a vehicle set up properly for the duty it is doing.
If you run more than one, we can plan the visits as a group so your operation keeps moving.
04
Diagnostics Come First
Every job starts with a full diagnostic read. We check what the vehicle has stored, look at how it is running, and give you an honest picture before any tuning is discussed.
If there is a fault, it gets dealt with first, or we do not proceed. Tuning a vehicle that has an existing problem rarely ends well.
05
DPF, AdBlue and EGR
For vehicles doing regular long runs, a diesel filter generally copes. It is the ones that have recently changed to short, stop-start work that start complaining, and the warning light is usually the first sign.
Diagnostics tell us what we are dealing with. A soot-loaded filter may respond to a proper run, but a physically blocked one needs cleaning or replacement, and no software change will fix it. AdBlue is the other one to deal with early rather than late.
We do not remove or defeat emissions equipment, because the consequences land on the vehicle owner at MOT time.
06
Transmission and Driveline
Where a vehicle has an automatic or dual-clutch gearbox, we look at how it behaves alongside the engine calibration. Steady trunk-road driving usually suits these gearboxes well, but if the owner is unhappy with how it responds, that is a separate conversation with its own merits.

Why Wickford Drivers Choose Us
Independent, IMI certified, fully insured, and mobile. We cover Kent, Medway, and the parts of Essex that are within reach of the crossing, because the work here is worth travelling for.
You deal with the person doing the job. If a remap is not the right answer for your vehicle, we will tell you that instead of selling you one.
