Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help a website work and can tell the site owner how the site is being used. This notice explains the cookies and analytics technologies used on our website and the choices available to you.
Strictly necessary cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies where they are needed for the website to work or to remember your cookie choices. These are used for essential functions and are not used by us for advertising. Where they meet the PECR exception for strictly necessary technologies, they do not require your consent. The exact name and lifespan of a cookie used to remember your choice depend on the consent tool and its settings.
Analytics cookies — only with your agreement
With your agreement, we use analytics cookies to count visits, see which pages are popular and understand how visitors use our website, so we can improve it. We use the information for website statistics, not advertising, and we do not sell your data.
No analytics technology runs until you accept. If you accept analytics cookies, we set the cookies listed below. If you reject them, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected, and we remember your choice so you do not have to keep making it.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), provided by Google. Google Signals, ad personalisation, remarketing and Google Ads data-sharing are turned off.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Typical lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes website visitors for analytics reporting. | Up to 2 years, depending on configuration and browser settings. | |
GA4 property cookie (name begins _ga_; exact suffix depends on configuration) | Stores information used for GA4 analytics, such as session or property information. | Up to 2 years, depending on configuration and browser settings. |
The lifespan of a cookie is separate from the period analytics data is retained in Google Analytics. Our GA4 data-retention setting is 14 months.
PostHog
We also use PostHog, a website analytics service, to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Typical lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
PostHog cookie (name begins ph_phc_ and ends _posthog) | PostHog | Records how the website is used so we can improve it. | Up to 1 year. |
PostHog runs only after you accept analytics cookies. If you reject them, PostHog does not run, no PostHog cookie is set and no PostHog analytics data is collected.
Your choice
You can accept or reject analytics cookies using the banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using in the website footer. The Cookie settings control must open the actual consent settings so you can change your choice.
