The Mobile Service, in Basildon
Nobody wants to hand over a working van for a day. We come to the address you give us, carry out the diagnostic read and the calibration on site, and you get on with your day around us.
For most of Basildon that means a straightforward appointment. We are comfortable working in a yard, on a driveway, or in a staff car park, and we can time visits around shift changes so the vehicle is back in service as quickly as possible.
02
A Calibration Written for Your Vehicle and Your Work
There is no single file that suits every van. What we write is based on the vehicle in front of us: the engine, the gearbox, the condition, and how the owner actually uses it.
That usually falls into one of three directions. More responsive power and drivability for a car driver who wants the vehicle to feel willing. Economy-focused calibration for a van that is doing distance every week. Or towing and load-carrying torque where a vehicle is permanently working.
03
Vans and Fleets First
Basildon is a fleet town and we treat it like one. If you run two or three vans, we can look at them together and plan the visits so they are not all off the road at once. If you run one van that earns your living, we work around the hours you can spare it.
The gain we are chasing here is not a headline number. It is a vehicle that pulls more cleanly when loaded, sits at speed with less effort, and behaves better on the repetitive short runs between the estates.
04
Health Check Before Remap
Before anything is written to a vehicle, we read it. Dealer-level diagnostics across the relevant modules, then a clear explanation of what the vehicle is doing and whether anything needs sorting first.
If we find something, we tell you. If it needs attention before tuning, we will say that rather than tune around it.
05
DPF, AdBlue and EGR
Emissions systems on a modern diesel do not like Basildon duty cycles. Short repeated journeys prevent a filter from completing its own cleaning process, and the warning light eventually becomes a regular visitor.
Our approach is to diagnose first so we know whether the vehicle has a soot problem or a physical blockage. A blocked filter needs cleaning or replacement, and software cannot undo a physical blockage. We are equally clear about AdBlue: deal with it while it is a warning, not once the vehicle starts counting down and limiting itself.
We do not remove or defeat emissions equipment. It can fail an MOT and it puts the owner in a difficult legal position.
06
Gearbox Behaviour in Traffic
Automatic and dual-clutch transmissions spend their lives in crawling traffic on the A127. That is where a gearbox that is slow to respond, or that changes its mind mid-junction, is most noticeable.
Where it suits the vehicle and the owner's goals, gearbox calibration is a separate conversation, with its own considerations, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it for you.

Why Basildon Drivers Call Us
We are an independent, IMI certified and fully insured mobile specialist. No franchised shop, no upselling, no call centre between you and the person doing the work.
We would rather give you a straight answer and lose a booking than tune a vehicle that does not need it.

Booking a Visit
Call 07946 854971. Tell us the vehicle, the postcode, and how it is used. If you are unsure where to start, send a photo of the dashboard or any warning light, and we will take a look before you commit to anything.
